FTE: 1.0 FTE (Working 37 hours per week)

Salary: UH8 £44,263pa (subject to negotiation) with potential to progress to £56,021 pa by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience
Annual Leave: 35 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our officer between Christmas and New Year
Location: College Lane campus, Hatfield

We are seeking a senior lecturer who is motivated and has professional experience to teach undergraduate and postgraduate students about generalist skills in 3D modelling and a related specialism in the 3D, visual effects or games production pipelines.

Main duties and responsibilities
The post holder will be highly motivated and ambitious with an excellent track record in one or more areas related to 3D modelling. The appointed person will maintain a clear sense of the development of the area and ensure the curriculum and teaching remain up to date. They will further develop and strengthen external relationships and partnerships with companies and media organisations that will benefit students and staff and support the strategic objectives of the University and School.

The post holder will be expected to inspire and intellectually challenge our students, developing and delivering a high-quality teaching and learning experience, and ensuring the successful and effective day to day running of modules. They will be expected to work closely with colleagues and the Programme Leaders, in a collegial and proactive academic team, to provide an excellent student learning experience.

Skill and experience required
You will have significant relevant professional experience in the 3D animation, visual effects or games industries and some teaching experience at HE level. You must have up to date, detailed, knowledge of commercial 3D modelling pipelines in the 3D animation, visual effects or games industries. You must have good presentation and interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will have the ability to work effectively on your own initiative and as part of a team and be proficient in English Language.

Qualifications required
You will be educated with a minimum of an undergraduate degree in a related subject, or a non-related subject with significant professional experience.
