Head Waiter - The o2 London
The Residence at the 02, will be the UK’s most exclusive Members Club at a Music Venue. With uninterrupted views from every seat, and the world\\'s first retractable \\'Walkway’ to take our members above the crowd. This will be without doubts a sensational place to work in.The Residence will be fine dining re – imagined. With show stopping cocktails from one of the 2 main bar areas, theatrical food offerings in our restaurant, all delivered by exceptional people with exceptional service.The restaurant will be the theatre that mirrors the performances on stage. Re - imagined fine dining means that the food speaks for itself, the theatre comes from the service delivered. Using a variety of dramatic and show stopping elements, the diners will have their senses challenged, and be told a story to go with the dishes delivered.As a key member of the team, the Head waiter is without doubt one of the most prominent. You will need to be exceptional. Not only from a skills and knowledge perspective, but teamwork, commitment, confidence, and enthusiasm are some of the key traits you will need. The ability to take our guests and the rest of the team on a journey through explaining the story behind the dishes will be key.
Main responsibilities include:
Service
- £33000 per annum
- 5 out of 7 days per week

Main responsibilities include:
Service
- You will be the one of the first points of contact for all our guests, offering not only food service with style, but welcoming them to Residence and taking them on a journey through what we have to offer, this will involve taking orders and requests efficiently and accurately and engaging with guests to enhance their experience.
- Dealing with their requests efficiently and accurately, communicating with kitchen and colleagues to ensure smooth delivery.
- Serving food, beverages & accompaniments in line with service standards.
- Knowledge in pairing wine with menu dishes if requested by a guest.
- Being able to make knowledgeable recommendations, proactively assisting guests with queries and upsell items to guests.
- Clearing tables and/or service points in a team environment.
- Know and can describe food and beverage menus including correct cutlery, crockery and glassware for the menu/beverage items being offered.
- Assisting with the set up and clear down of your area, ready for the next service.
- Order taking including use of written orders and/or electronic till and ordering systems.
- Ensuring all cutlery, crockery and glassware is polished & impeccably clean before use and ensuring all service areas are kept clean, tidy and safe.
- Escalate any service issues to the appropriate management team member.
- Comply with all company and unit policies with regards to Health & Safety, Hygiene, Manual Handling and COSHH.
- Follow responsible alcohol service policies.
- You must be able to communicate effectively with all our customers, clients, and colleagues. Listen and respond appropriately.

- Oversee the restaurants operations along the Deputy Residence Manager.
- Train new members of staff on service and product knowledge and assist the Deputy Residence Manager in team development.
- Assist the restaurant host with managing bookings best possible.
- Understands how to upsell and motivate and train the rest of the team to do the same.
