Mon - Thurs 8-5, Fri 8-1.

Our client with premises in Loughborough provides precision engineering services to customers both locally and nationally.

They provide a complete solution to precision engineering projects and help customers with engineering design and prototyping, and the production of highly complex and intricate components from a wide variety of materials.

The team has a wealth of knowledge in the industry and specialises in precision engineering, CNC and manual milling, turning, machining and precision grinding for any type of metal and some plastics.

OBJECTIVE

To develop CNC programmes and operate milling machines and associated equipment at lowest operating cost consistent with quality and health and safety requirements. To achieve these objectives by operating to instructions and ensuring the most efficient operation of existing and new facilities, machines and concentrating on tool care. Ensure self and colleagues work efficiently and safely.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS.

⦁ To run the companies XYZ Lathes with Prototrak and Fanuc controls. Must be able to write programs.
⦁ Operate equipment so that material is processed to target quality standards ensuring equipment and tooling operating conditions are maintained and product material is only processed when in suitable condition.
⦁ Ensure tooling, machinery and associated equipment is all maintained in best possible condition to allow maximum long-term effectiveness and ensure replacement tooling is ordered in sufficient time to maintain delivery performance.
⦁ Assist in recording of output, machine parameters and efficiency records.
⦁ Train new operators to raise the competence levels of our employees to improve efficiency and flexibility.
⦁ Assist in documenting all existing and new methods, programmes and times.
⦁ Assist in rearrangements, new installations and refurbishments.
⦁ Assist in developing new methods, routes and production standards, ensuring engineering, production and quality standards are met.
⦁ Operate safety awareness programmes and adhere to safe practices above minimum legal requirements.
⦁ Enforce top level housekeeping and cleanliness rules within all internal and external areas.
⦁ Ensure Factory and equipment is secure at all times and assist in shutting down and locking up when required
Who can do this?
⦁ 5 years CNC Programming, Setting, Operating experience is essential
⦁ Experience of working on small batch work an advantage
⦁ You will have been responsible for the quality of your own work involving complex components
⦁ Experience with XYZ controls is essential
⦁ NVQ or Equivalent in Mechanical Engineering advantageous but not essential
