Split post across Tower Hamlets Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (TH CAMHS) and Tower Hamlets Community Learning Disability Service (TH CLDS)
East London NHS Foundation Trust – This is an exciting time for ELFT. Our vision is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations. We want to improve the health of the populations we serve, improve their experience of care, improve staff experience and improve value. Working with our communities and partners is to key to achieving this
This post reflects a new and exciting opportunity to combine roles across both the CAMHS specialist neurodevelopmental disorders service and adult community learning disabilities service in Tower Hamlets. This is a community-based post, located within Tower Hamlets CAMHS/CLDS offering flexible, evidence-based episodes of care, assessments and treatments to a wide variety of clinical presentations.
We are looking for clinical psychologists who are passionate about working with individuals with neurodevelopmental difficulties and learning disabilities. We would welcome applications from newly qualified clinical psychologists putting in place appropriate clinical supervision to support the transition post qualification.
The post holder would work 3 days in TH CAMHS and 2 days in TH CLDS.
Within TH CAMHS, there would scope for the successful candidate to undertake ADOS-II and 3Di training (for completing Autism assessments) if this has not already been completed. Whilst the role is based within the Neurodevelopmental pathway there is also the possibility to join another pathway (Emotional & Behavioural – mood/anxiety difficulties, Emotional & Behavioural – conduct difficulties, Bipolar & Psychosis, Front Door) to align with the successful candidate’s interests. The post holder would also access to monthly Clinical Psychology meetings within TH CAMHS.
The post holder will directly contribute to the positive working environment within the multi-disciplinary teams and will be required to deliver assessments and interventions in Tower Hamlets. The post holder will require a high degree of professional autonomy and self-management, and will be required to account for their professional practice through supervision, appraisal and audit. The post-holder will produce reports on developments for TH CAMHS/CLDS managers and multi-agency partners.
People Participation is an integral part of our co-production work with individuals, and there are various possibilities to engage with this work if this is of interest.
Both services have links with the North Thames training courses, and we regularly have trainee clinical psychologists on placement with us.
TH CAMHS provides flexible, evidence-based service providing episodes of care, assessments and treatments to a wide variety of clinical presentations.
The service includes professionals from various disciplines including psychiatry, nursing, social workers, psychology, occupational therapy, psychotherapy and family therapy, who come together to provide high quality holistic care for young people and their families.
TH CLDS provides specialist health and social care services to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in Tower Hamlets. Tower Hamlets is a vibrant inner city borough with a diverse community. You will join our well-established, dynamic psychological therapies team within the integrated multi-disciplinary community Learning Disabilities service.
