Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

The difference you will make as a Senior Technical Surveyor (Damp and Mould Specialist)

The Technical Surveyor, with expertise in damp and mould and serving as a Team Manager, is responsible for leading and managing a team of surveyors specialising in damp and mould assessment and remediation. This role involves overseeing the technical aspects of surveying operations, providing guidance and support to team members and ensuring the quality and accuracy of survey reports. The Team Manager plays a key role in driving excellence in service delivery, fostering professional development within the team, and maintaining high standards of performance.

About you

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management or a related field. Proven experience in building surveying with a specialisation in damp and mould assessment and remediation.

Role Profile

1. Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and manage a team of surveyors specialising in damp and mould assessment and remediation.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical support to team members, ensuring their professional development and growth.
  • Set clear performance objectives and expectations for the team, monitoring progress and providing constructive feedback.

2. Technical Oversight:

  • Oversee the planning and execution of damp and mould surveys and assessments, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Review survey findings and reports prepared by team members, verifying accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established protocols.
  • Offer expertise and guidance on complex surveying issues, providing solutions and recommendations as needed.

3. Quality Assurance:

  • Implement quality assurance measures to ensure the consistency and accuracy of survey reports produced by the team.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and audits of surveying processes and outputs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

4. Customer Engagement:

  • Serve as a point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, providing technical advice, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their specific requirements and expectations, tailoring surveying solutions to meet their needs.

5. Training and Development:

  • Develop and deliver training programs for team members to enhance their technical skills, knowledge of industry standards, and proficiency in surveying techniques.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team, encouraging the sharing of best practices and innovative approaches.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in building surveying with a specialisation in damp and mould assessment and remediation.
  • Knowledge of Building Regulations and Standards.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with previous experience in supervising and developing a team of technical professionals.
  • In-depth knowledge of damp and mould-related issues, building pathology, and remediation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using surveying equipment, diagnostic tools, and software applications.
  • Certification or accreditation in building surveying or related disciplines is desirable.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various locations for survey assignments.

* Flexibility of working hours and willingness to work on the odd occasion weekends (On call).
