Monday-Sunday to cover early, late and night weekday and weekend shifts as required.

In order for Royal Mail to run a safe, efficient and cost-effective fleet, the Traffic Office Assistant would be expected to carry out the following tasks in line with Royal Mail Leadership behaviours.

Royal Mail is now recruiting for Traffic Office Administrator. If you can work well under pressure and are friendly and professional, you are the type of person we’re looking for.

About the role

  • Ensure that the Isotrack is kept up to date and data correctly input daily, all drivers are de-briefed at the end of their duty. All adhoc collections to be added to Isotrak and all trailers allocated to a duty
  • Ensure that CDU/FTA, the system we use to record our HGV drivers hours, is kept up to date and data correctly input daily in order to ensure that we comply with European Legislation.
  • Issuing of vehicle keys and log books in line with Royal Mail standards.
  • Ensure digital tacho cards are downloaded in line with Royal Mail policy.
  • Daily debrief to be carried out with all drivers, any unresolved issues to be passed onto shift manager.
  • Ensure planned maintenance is carried out of vehicles and that the maintenance board and vehicle files are kept up to date.
  • Full Training will be provided.
  • All log books to be checked each day when returned
  • Ensure adherence to PMT1 process and maintain register
  • Ensure VOR vehicles are isolated and the workshop notified as soon as possible & logged on Isotrak, and M5 VOR Frame work.
  • Issue and monitoring of foreign fuel key usage
  • Ensure agency drivers sign in and out and all agency are started and stopped on Joined Up in timely manner
  • Liaise with vehicle workshops about getting VOR’s back in service as quickly as possible to ensure maximum vehicle availability.

  • Have good verbal and phone communication skills and confident talking to people and customers
  • Able to instruct drivers with relevant information and at times work unsupervised for periods.
