Support is required to enable a 5-year-old boy who has a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to access age-appropriate leisure activities in the local community.

Time may also be used at times in the family home to read stories together, watch favorite movies, participate in role play and play games. Support with prompts to keep hydrated.

Drivers preferred business use insurance.

Experience is preferred but not essential.

Main Duties:

· Support required to access age-appropriate activities in and around the local community, have an interest in swimming, he loves going for walks and drives. Likes music, singing songs, dancing, as well as drawing and colouring in.· You will be required to anticipate the child’s needs, as he has limited verbal communication. Provide support with personal care and toileting and social stimulation and progressive levels of activity. · Assist the child to build relationships with peers within his wider community.

Child does not like change and follows a routine with meals and bedtime etc.

Personal specification:· Experience in health & social care desirable· Have a genuine interest in working with children with complex needs· Have a positive understanding towards children with disabilities· Ability to both take instructions and use own initiative.· Respect confidentiality· Punctual, honest, reliable with a caring nature as the child cannot be left unsupervised

Rate of Pay - £13.09
Hours - 4 hours a week (52 weeks) and an additional 4 hours during all school holidays (13 weeks)

Training: Where it is required, such as in Health and Safety matters, practical training and guidance around stoma and leg care, medication & moving and handling will be arranged, and the care worker will be expected to attend.
