Taylor Forgings Limited is a family-owned steel stockholding and sub contract machining company located in Sheffield.
With a diverse and expanding machine shop we need a dedicated service engineer.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a service engineer. The applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of machinery, with an emphasis on preventive maintenance following an initial period. They will use their expertise to ensure machinery operates efficiently, safely, and reliably.
Qualifications
The right to work in the United Kingdom
You must reside within a commutable distance of S9
A minimum of 7 years experience in maintaining manual and CNC lathes and vertical boring machines
A forensic knowledge of Herbert 9's, 12's and 14's lathes and Webster & Bennett vertical borers is preferred.
Strong technical skills in preventive maintenance and maintenance
Ability to perform machinery installations and upgrades such as, but not restricted to, guarding.
Knowledge and understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is needed for some of the machinery.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and a genuine desire to work with and inspire the next generation of engineers with a minimum of one apprentice joining in September 2024 being assigned to you.
Whilst we recognise the importance of being time served we do also require the candidate to have formal qualifications in this field as they need to understand the formal structure of training to ensure effective delivery to apprentices
The remuneration
In return for the above we are offering upwards of £45000 basic with bonus paid on downtime saved.
Proft share on machines bought, repaired and sold on.
Fully paid BUPA after 6 months, subject to acceptance by BUPA
Social events roughly every month
