Job Purpose
I am a dad of six young children, and I have complex spinal injuries. This means that I am unable to do many tasks daily. I am seeking support with personal care, domestic tasks, meal preparation, and getting out for social interaction. There will also be cleaning duties involved.

Location: NR30, Caister

Main Duties:

  • Personal care including assistance with washing and dressing, continence care, and cleaning after toilet routine.
  • Helping me to get to and from the wet room to the living room and assist with other transfers when required.
  • Prompting me to take my medication is a Must.
  • Meal preparation - assisting with breakfast, lunch, Sunday Roast preparation and arranging what I am eating the next day.
  • Domestic tasks such as washing the dishes and sanitizing the kitchen after each meal, and making sure the floor is clear of children's toys to help prevent falls and trips.
  • Supporting me to access activities of interest, such as shopping and attending social clubs to enable me some time away from my busy household and improve my general wellbeing.
  • Helping me to plan days out.

These duties may vary from day to day.
Any other reasonable duties that may be necessary.

Person specificationListed below are the skills, competencies and qualities that are essential and desirable for the post. Essential
  • Male/Female PA
  • Car Owner with Business Insurance
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably with people with spinal injuries or similar disabilities. This is not essential as full training will be given.
  • Able to work in a busy family environment.
  • Adaptable with work tasks with the ability to use your own initiative.
  • Punctual, reliable and self-motivated.
  • Comfortable to work around a large dog.

Summary Terms and Conditions
  • The rate of pay for this position is £15 per hour
  • Hours and Days of Work: 8 hours per weekend, with 4 hours each to be worked on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • The annual holiday entitlement for this position, will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
  • Mandatory Training will need to be completed in Health and Safety, GDPR and what the employer also requires you to be trained on.
  • Successful candidate will not be able to start work, till an enhanced DBS check has been done.
