Job Purpose:
I am a friendly gentleman living in Poringland who is seeking a PA to support me in the community and assist me with everyday living tasks such as accompanying me to social and leisure activities, assisting me to take my dog for a walk, administrative tasks, and personal care. I have a rare condition called Klippel-Feil Syndrome which causes fusion in the cervical spine and depending on the area of fusion, there can be related congenital conditions. I also have Scoliosis, Kyphosis and a rare condition called Aplastic Anaemia. I am a sociable man who likes to keep active. I live at home with my parents, sister and Jack Russell Terrier. I like to get out and about meeting new people and going to the cinema and theatre. I am currently a Trustee at Equal Lives and sit on the Making It Real board. My other roles include the Direct Payments Support Services advisory group and Norwich Kind City Map CIC. This will be a flexible working role, whereby I am seeking a PA to provide holiday and sickness cover for my existing PAs.

Details:

  • Support me in the community.
  • Accompanying me to social and leisure activities, such as Able2B, shopping and meeting friends. This will involve driving my mobility equipped car.
  • Assisting me with walking my dog, as well as taking him out with us to visit friends and hopefully be part of Pets As Therapy.
  • Supporting me at work by assisting me with tasks such as photocopying and proof reading.
  • Assisting me during meetings by taking minutes.
  • Support with other administrative duties.
  • Personal care.
  • Any other duties as required.

Summary terms and conditions:
  • The rate of pay for this position is £14 per hour.
  • You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
  • Access to free Care Skills training for employed workers.
  • Hours and days of work: Flexible working role, to provide holiday and sickness cover for existing PA’s.
The post is subject to the following:
  • A satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
  • Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
  • Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 3 months.

  • Should this job role include any of the following duties: food handling, chemical handling (general household cleaning products) or manual handling, you may be required to undertake annual training.
