Do you have a passion to teach and share your knowledge and expertise with students?
We are looking for a full-time Media and Journalism Lecturer to join our Media and Journalism team. Ideally with experience across the breadth of the media sector to include aspects of both Journalism and mainstream Creative Media skills. The successful candidate will provide teaching, learning and assessment to learners and students across a range of levels within the subject areas from Level1 to Higher Education, depending on the needs of the faculty.
Working closely with our team of dedicated staff, the successful candidate will contribute effectively to the successful learning experiences of students in the College through effective teaching that meets or exceeds College standards and results in high levels of student retention and achievement.
We're looking for someone with a Degree or HND qualification and ideally, recent industrial experience. You must hold a teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or display a willingness to work towards the Level 5 Diploma teaching qualification (supported by CPD) upon being appointed.
The successful candidate must have experience of delivering lessons at a standard of 'Good' or above, possess excellent communication skills and be highly motivated to provide an outstanding service to our learners. You must have proven awareness and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Flexibility and ability to adapt towards different learner needs is also essential to the role.
Finally, you will have the proven ability to work successfully and influentially as part of a team and experience of organising, managing and delivering learning opportunities in the media sector.
