A young man in the Heddon-on-the-wall area is looking to recruit x2 enablers to support him accessing places of interest in his local community.The family are looking for enablers to support this young man with socialising and accessing the local community and visiting new places of interest and take a person-centered approach to all activities this young man chooses to engage in
The young man enjoys going out and about in the community he enjoys to browse the shops. He likes to go swimming and walks in the park.
Hours of work: 5hrs per week (During school holidays only) days and time to be discussed at interview.Rates of Pay: £13.09 per hour
Location: Heddon-On-The-Wall area
Main Duties: Include a breakdown of tasks that will be required/main duties
Main Duties: To support a young man who has Autism, Learning Disability ADHD and Lennox Gastaut Syndrome with active epilepsy. To promote independence and to access places of interest in the local community. While Acting as a 'support buddy', encouraging his interests while taken a person-centered approach
The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.

- Car driver preferred
- Calm, patient and understanding
- Honest, reliable and with a caring nature.
- Punctual, trustworthy and Respect confidentiality.
- Have a happy positive caring nature.
- Have an outgoing personality
- Ability to both take instructions and use own initiative.
- Experience in health & social care desirable – awareness in autism and mental health needs
- Respect confidentiality is a must
Training: Where it is required, such as in Health and Safety matters, practical training and guidance will be arranged, and the care worker will be expected to attend. This will include moving and handling, medication awareness and additional training specific to the client.
