I am an autistic male who requires a Personal Assistant to help cover 18 -15 hours per week, Monday - Saturday.

If possible, I would greatly appreciate having a male carer, as it would allow me to build my social skills on an easy level before I interact with other on a bigger social scale.

I would like support with accessing the community, some of which include : going to the allotment, shops/cafes, BASS - drop in, relationship course, pub group, disco group.

Experience in similar role would be advantageous, although not essential.
Duties include;

  • Support interacting and making friends
  • Accessing learning opportunities within the community
  • Support to understand the potential risk whilst accessing the community e.g. road safety
  • Support to manage my anxiety and associated behaviours within the community

Qualities :
  • Outgoing & talkative friendly person
  • Must be reliable & Punctual.
  • Willing to undertake training as required.
  • Reliable
  • Full Driving License Car Driver/Owner essential

Hours & Pay:
  • 18 - 25 hours
  • £15.00/hour

Other Responsibilities: Punctuality:
  • Arrive at the scheduled time, ready to start work. Let me know if you are going to be more than 10 minutes late.
Confidentiality:
  • I will need you to respect my privacy. Many problems can arise from casual conversation about the care and assistance that you give. Maintain a professional approach at all times.
Good Attitude:
  • Appreciate the strains and stresses involved for me and the effect this can have on the acceptance of your help. You should respect the possessions and equipment in my home. Use of the telephone, heating, television, radio etc. are at my discretion.
Training:
  • Training will be available in certain key areas. You should be prepared to attend any relevant training sessions, read any training literature provided and follow procedures.

Other:
  • DBS will be required and checked
