Vacancy Summary:This vacancy is for 2 x complex personal care assistants in the Worthing area. The hours available are:1) Day Hours – 36hrs (12hr shifts) Monday to Friday: 8am to 8pm as per rota2) Night Hours – 36hrs (12hr shifts) Thursday, Saturday and Sunday: 8pm to 8am.Your contract of employment will be to support the client in this advert only. All of our contracts are for permanent positions with a 6 month probationary period.About me:I am looking for exceptional, dedicated, skilled personal care assistants to join the team that I am building as I have complex care needs. I live independently in my own home with my wife, who is my main carer. What support I need:As a member of our caring team, you’ll be responsible for a wide range of tasks that can vary by the day, so an amount of flexibility is required. Some of the main duties include:Administration of medicationMoving and Handling with HoistGastrostomy Care / PEG feedingPersonal CareAssisting me in the communityAdministrative dutiesLight houseworkAbout you and our requirements:The right candidate will be somebody who is enthusiastic, caring, has excellent communication skills, is patient and a reliable team player. You will be friendly and dynamic with a strong personality and common sense. You will need to be adaptable in the role and responsive to our client’s needs, demonstrating a person-centred approach at all times.You will have at least six months of complex care experience, a strong background in dealing with seizures, peg feed, catheter and level 3 medication including Warfarin. Ideally you would also have experience with Status Epilepticus and practical experience of giving Buccal Midazolam. You should be able to identify and understand a medical emergency and have an awareness of clients with a brain injury and who are non-verbal.Our client has a cat, therefore you should not have a cat allergy. It is also our client’s wish to recruit non-smokers. An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this vacancy (expense met by HomeCareDirect)We do not currently employ overseas workers who require sponsorship.
