Your contract of employment will be to support the client in this advert only, on a permanent contract. The need for flexibility around working hours is essential but there will be no nights or weekend working.About me:I am a 43 year old gentleman and I live on my own in a small village near Ely. I sustained a brain injury, along with orthopaedic injuries approximately 6 years ago. I realise that I struggle with my levels of motivation which limits my ability to establish structure and consistency in my life. I like collectables and would like to rekindle my interests in drawing and cooking. I would also like to join a gym and get out and about in the community more. What support our client needs:You will provide support to enable our client to gain motivation to carry out a daily routine. This will entail discussing and establishing a plan for tasks that he wishes to achieve, the aim being that he can be consistent with tasks, such as planning his week, managing his finances, accessing the community and activities.You will support our client to find a suitable gym so he can aim to improve his overall health. You will help him set up an electronic filing system to manage his correspondence and finances and help planning his week. You will support with jointly discussing a plan for weekly food shopping, visiting local supermarkets and shops, and preparing and cooking meals with support.You will also be required to liaise with and implement strategies provided by our clients’ neuropsychologist as well as attending team meetings as required.About you and our requirements:Experience of working in a similar role would be beneficial but is not essential as a values-based approach to recruiting the right candidate is preferred and full training is provided. The vacancy would suit somebody who has a qualification, or is working towards a qualification in Psychology , coaching or counselling. Our client and his case manager will have full involvement in screening and selecting candidates so you would need to meet their specific criteria.You should be able to demonstrate a person-centred approach and be committed to providing support, respect, understanding and care to the highest level.It is essential that you have GCSE (or equivalent) in English (reading, writing and numeracy skills) and have basic IT skills and the ability to undertake any training as requested.You will need to have a full UK driving licence for this vacancy.An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this vacancy (expense met by HomeCareDirect)A full job description can be provided on request.
