S. has been diagnosed with Autism and Dyspraxia and requires help socialising in his community.The ideal candidate is compassionate, conscientious, and experienced in supporting adults with sometimes challenging behaviour. You should be friendly and approachable, sensitive, and fun.What are the duties?· Support in facilitating greater access to the community for fun activities· Support in accessing outdoor spaces for things like nature walks in the local area e.g., Roundhay Park, Golden Acre Park etc· Support to source and access interests and hobbies· Helping S. to gain confidence in social situationsEssential Requirements:· Flexibility towards planned activities· Positive attitude· Patience and tolerance towards S.’s interests and habits (loves gaming, chatting and cycling).· De-escalation techniques to support and reassure S. if he is feeling threatened or challenged.· Any relevant experience will be considered if the skills can be applied to this role.What your employer can offer:· Supportive and pleasant home environment· Access to free E-Learning courses such as First Aid and Safeguarding· Flexible work schedule· £10.50 per hour, plus holiday pay etc.
