Job Reference (878e060a)

We are looking to recruit a second female Care Worker to work alongside the existing Carer.  We are looking for some who is enthusiastic and committed to the role, so that this child can have the required 2:1 close supervision.  She is 10 years and has a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD.

Main Duties
The support will be delivered both at home and in the community accessing age-appropriate activities including going to the beach, where she loves to build sandcastles, and visiting the woods.  The child has no danger awareness so very close supervision and support will be required to ensure her safety, especially when near water.

The ideal candidate will be somebody who enjoys being outdoors but is equally happy to engage in indoor activities including baking and art on poor weather days.  The child can sometimes present with some behaviours which are due to her being unable to communicate verbally and having some sensory issues; we therefore require a care worker who can support her in managing this whilst continuing to access appropriate activities. Experience in working with children presenting with similar needs would be an advantage.

There may be occasions where support can be required with personal care.

There is no medication administration required for this role.

Hours
5 hours per week during term time weeks with an additional 10 hours per week during all school holiday weeks, i.e. 15 hours per week in school holidays.

Some flexibility on the days/times required which can be discussed with successful the applicant.  There is one care worker already in post and you will be working alongside them to deliver the 2:1 support this little girl needs.
