Personal Care Assistant for a lady F/T@ £16.41/hr in Cramlington - FTE - £32.0k - CRAMLINGTON - NE23

We are looking to recruit the final member of the care team to support a physically disabled Biology graduate to live independently, beginning in the family home, before moving into her own bungalow. 
 
You will work 1-1 as part of a 24hr care team working 12hr shifts, including waking nightshifts, and weekend shifts on a 4-weekly rolling rota.
 
𝑱𝒐𝒃 𝒓𝒐𝒍𝒆: 
𝑰𝒏𝒄𝒍𝒖𝒅𝒆s: meal preparation, Catering to multiple allergies; medication administration (including emergency injections & nebulisers), application of braces to several joints & personal care.
 
As well as enabling the employer to participate in all aspects of daily life. 
 
This includes regular social activities (concerts, cinema, theatre & nights out), attending medical appointments & work placements within local primary schools - in preparation for doing teaching qualifications in the future.
 
𝑴𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆: 
The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. 
 
Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, however, careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds. 
 
A full 𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒆 is required and an adapted Mercedes van is required to be driven for all transport needs, including hospital appointments and regular social outings. 
 
Candidates 𝑴𝑼𝑺𝑻 𝒃𝒆 𝑵𝒐𝒏-𝒔𝒎𝒐𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒔 due to medical reasons and a life-threatening allergy to cigarette smoke. 
 
𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒃𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆, 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒚, 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒂 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆 & 𝒃𝒆 𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 & 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒔. 
 
𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒂𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒔: Various 12hr shift patterns on offer. Shifts are 8am to 8pm, and 8pm to 8am, and include weekend shifts. Full-time posts are for 36hr/week contracts. 
 
Employee must be𝒇𝒍𝒆𝒙𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 where needed within the team, to ensure care needs are met at all times. 
 
𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒐𝒚𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒊s 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒏𝒕 and holiday pay is 5.6 weeks pro-rata.

All appropriate training will be given on the job - but 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒐𝒓 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒍. 
 
An Enhanced certificate of Disclosure (DBS) will be obtained for successful candidates (at employer’s expense) and references will be requested at successful interview. 
 
Shifts are on a 4 week rolling rota, example rota:
Week 1 : Monday & Tuesday Dayshift (8:00 - 20:00) 
Saturday nightshift (20:00- 8:00)
 
Week 2: Tuesday & Wednesday nightshift (20:00-8:00) and Saturday Dayshift(8:00-20:00)
 
Week 3: Thursday & Friday nightshift (8:00-20:00)  Sunday dayshift (20:00-8:00)
 
Week 4:
Monday nightshift (20:00-08:00)
Wednesday and Thursday 
Dayshift (08:00- 20:00)
