An older lady in the Hexham area is looking to recruit some carers to support her within the family home. The lady has a diagnosis of Registered Blind, type 1 Diabetic, Marfan Syndrome and reduced mobility,

The lady enjoys the company of her cat and listening to her talking books

Hours of work: 10.5hrs per week include days, evenings and weekends calls – 3 calls a day 7 days a week. Days and times to be discussed at interview

Rates of Pay: £9.78 per hour

Location: Hexham area

Main Duties:

Include a breakdown of tasks that will be required/main duties: Prompts and support with personal care, some light meal preparation, and household tasks, support around pain managing and mental health while helping to reduce the risk of falls. Also, to be flexible to cover for holidays and sickness leaveThe role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.

Personal specification:To be calm, patient and understandingHonest, reliable and with a caring nature.Punctual, trustworthy with a happy positive caring nature.Have an outgoing personality Ability to both take instructions and use own initiative.Experience in health & social care desirable – experience in working with people with both physical and mental health needsRespect confidentiality is a must

Further Information: An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS) will have to be obtained for the successful candidate (at employer’s expense).

Training: Where it is required, such as in Health and Safety matters, practical training and guidance will be arranged and the care worker will be expected to attend. This will include moving and handling, medication awareness and additional training specific to the client.
