Summary
Our government client are currently looking for a User Researcher to join their team on a new contract.
Contract Length: 6 Months (Extension TBC)
Location: London or Leeds (Currently remote working which will continue. Possible visit to either London or Leeds so must be willing to access if required during the contract)
Rate: £500 - £550 per day umbrella
As a User Researcher, your main responsibilities would be to:
• Design, manage and execute user research (qualitative, quantitative, collaborative, online and usability research) with both the public and relevant professionals.
• Help to lead the strategic direction of the programme, in a user centred approach, through high quality user insight
• Communicate with sensitivity and diplomacy to ensure the right direction is followed and that user needs are at the forefront of the design process
• Supervise, line manage and develop associate user researchers (where applicable)
• Embed Agile, User-Centered Design principles into the team
Essential experience:
• Must be able to lead on the design, management and execution of user research (qualitative, quantitative and usability research) with both the public and relevant professionals
• Will need to lead joint analysis with agile team members to produce findings, as well as regularly sharing research findings with their team, ensuring that team members have a good understanding of issues coming out of research and of user needs.
• Help to lead the strategic direction of their team through high quality user insight
• Collaborate with user researchers in other teams (although they will not need to line manage anyone for these projects)
• Have experience of GDS service assessments
• Have experience of embedding agile user centred design research in teams and with stakeholders who are inexperienced in that way of working
Desirable Qualifications/Skills:
• Degree in HCI/Usability/Cognitive Psychology/Market Research or related. (Related degrees include degrees that included taught and practical research modules).
• Experience of working in the health sector / knowledge of the health sector
• Previous public sector experience
