We work as a small friendly team looking after large gardens within Glasgow City Centre.
Following training and with ongoing support, you will use a variety of equipment and machinery to cut grass, trim hedges / shrubbery and manage bedding areas to a high standard.
Working as a Gardener provides excellent benefits in terms of physical and mental health.
We have very low levels of staff turnover, due to the very good working conditions.
You will develop confidence and strengths in Individual Work, Team Working as well as knowledge of safe use and maintenance of a wide range of equipment and machinery.

Working 25 to 40 hours per week, depending on the work available

Transport will be provided to work locations in Glasgow West End

Available Monday to Friday 8am till 4pm

There are opportunities to train in equipment and machinery maintenance.

Our Team
Our Team consists of mature Individuals from many walks of life. Some of whom have and or still do work on a voluntary basis with Young People with Learning and / or Confidence issues.
Initial induction day
Providing Introduction to The Team. One to One Meeting with Mentor Worker. Setting up of PAYE and Administration, Contracts etc. Information on facilities within the business Base Premises. Provision of Uniform and Personal Protective Equipment. Health and Safety Briefing. Familiarisation of Machinery and Equipment. Roles and Responsibilities.
On the Job Training
Working with Mentor on a one-to-one basis and building excellent working relationships with Mentor and other Team Members.
Developing experience with use and maintenance of equipment and machinery and increasing independent working.
Ongoing support from Mentor, Team Members and Manager.
Completion of documentation and software systems for routine matters will be part of the role and will improve and build confidence in this area of skill.
Preparation for later life
As experience grows, we anticipate Confidence and Team Working abilities will also grow organically with any necessary additional support.
We will undertake regular Performance Reviews Meetings to ensure development is on track with a view to retaining the Employee and/or helping the Employee prepare for New Work Opportunities.
