Artcore Limited

We are looking for an enthusiastic, and motivated person to support the smooth day-to-day running of Artcore.

Place of work
Your usual place of work will be our office on Charnwood Street but you may also be expected to work at our City Centre Gallery or offsite.

Job description

Greet visitors and participants to ensure a welcoming environment

Respond to telephone and written enquiries from clients, agencies and other callers

Support staff to record registration and attendance at workshops, collate registers, input and analyse data

Help set up for workshops and pack away afterwards including preparing any materials

General administration

Support volunteers as required

Artcore is a dynamic, diverse contemporary visual arts charity committed to bringing positive change.

IT literate, attention to detail, good communication skills, undertaking admin tasks, an interest in art is desirable.

25hrs per week. Fixed days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - Fixed hours: 09:30 - 16:15

National minimum wage

You will have a line manager and a mentor who will support you throughout your time at Artcore.

You will have the opportunity to work be part of and work with all members of our staff team as well as our sessional artists helping to develop teamwork and communication skills.

Artcore run a number of different exhibitions and events throughout the year and you will have the opportunity to put forward ideas and support the planning and delivery of some events.

These events attract members of the public and you will have the opportunity to mix with our diverse audiences building confidence and gaining valuable experience working with a wide variety of people. You will attend weekly team meetings and be encouraged to contribute your thoughts and ideas.

As the Administrative Assistant, you will work alongside our Project Coordinators and gain experience working with Microsoft Office products, help to set up and support some of our workshops and events.

We do not offer any formal training qualifications, however, you will learn from our experienced team how a dynamic arts charity operates.
You will have the opportunity to shadow members of our staff who have a variety of skills and experience. Our diverse staff team offers many opportunities for you to develop your skills and experience a wide range of career options.

We can also support you with CV writing, team-working skills, interview techniques and improving your confidence within the workforce and talk to you about the different career pathways and opportunities that may be open to you in a creative environment.
You will have the opportunity to join our Young Artists Collective. This is a group who meet weekly in our gallery to connect and support each.
