Summary

Class 1 Driver (5 over 7) Days

Driving a Class 1 curtain side, double decker or box trailer vehicle in a safe manner, Delivering Caged or palletised goods to RDC’s or stores, ensuring that the loads are secured correctly and that the goods are delivered on time, offloaded in the correct manner, paperwork is signed, and any agreed waste or cages is collected to be returned.

PERMANENT ROLE – Any 5 from 7 Days - £14.50 per hour plus premiums!

  • £14.50 - £18.85 per hour
  • £33,930.00 per annum
  • Overtime paid at time & half after 45 hours worked per week
  • Additional premiums
  • £1.45 per hour for hours worked between 16:00 to 21:59 (pm)
  • £2.90 per hour for hours worked between 22:00 and 05:59 (nights)
  • £4.35 per hour for hours worked between Saturday & Sunday 00:00 - 23;59
  • Shift pattern 5 over 7
  • 41.25 hour contract
  • Days start time between 06:00 to 08:30
  • Inexperience / newly qualified Class 1 drivers will be considered

How will you contribute?

  • Responsible for the accurate, timely movement and delivery of our customers’ products.
  • Single drop
  • Adhering to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times.
  • Securing load of the trailer to ensure products are safely secured to minimise chances of damage.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times and to take ownership of customer issues on delivery.
  • Carry out multi-drop deliveries within the delivery window in a safe manner.
  • Be aware of the vehicle defects and bring to the attention of Transport Office as necessary.
  • Attend essential training in order to carry out the Driver role.

What will you bring?

  • Must have valid in date Class 1 licence
  • Must have valid in date CPC
  • Must hold Digital tachograph card
  • Must not have more than 6 points on licence
  • 6 months driving class 1 experience desirable, however new drivers will be considered
  • Possess excellent customer facing awareness skills
  • Good timekeeper and able to work unsupervised
  • Enthusiastic and reliable with a commitment to delivering 1st class customer service
  • Must have good communication skills and a flexible can-do attitude to work
  • Must have a good geographical knowledge
  • All successful candidates will be required to pass a BPSS security clearance
