Enabling our customers to live safely. That’s when it hits home!

We have fabulous opportunity for you to join our brand-new extra care Community Wellbeing scheme, Railway Bridge View in the bustling town of Brighouse. Opening in early 2022, we’ll be supporting older people aged 55+ with varying care and support needs to live independently in their own home with peace of mind.

Some of customers will also have dementia. We’ll be offering high quality living in our 65 beautifully designed apartments with a variety of on-site facilities including assistive technology, on site wellbeing and care provision, restaurant, café, hair/beauty salon, communal activity rooms and stunning elevated gardens. It will be a real hub within the local community. Brilliant isn’t it!

Our fantastic new building is very close to Brighouse town centre, only half a mile from the train station. There are bus stops literally on the doorstep with great routes to Huddersfield and Halifax. Really handy for the commute or popping out on lunch for a bit of shopping!

Be yourself at Home
Home Group is committed to tackling prejudice and discrimination, not just for our customers, but for our colleagues too! We’re super proud of our internal Diversity Networks and allies (Multicultural, LGBTQIA+ and Disability) which support colleagues from different backgrounds to be their true selves. We recognise and celebrate our differences, together we make Home Group a great place to work!

Do let us know if you’d like us to make any adjustments to support you in your application or day to day on the job!

About you
It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, or perhaps in a similar role. However, it’s your “can do” positive attitude, enthusiasm and passion to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll be reliable and able to work on your own initiative. To keep our records right and our customers safe, you’ll also need to be technologically savvy to complete records and use our systems (or at the very least not be a technophobe!)

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for this, if you don’t have a transferrable one already.

Your role
You’ll be covering our weekend day shifts, ensuring the smooth running of our service. This will include monitoring CCTV, regularly patrolling the premises, monitoring visitors to and from the building and ensuring tenancy conditions and service rules are adhered to. You’ll also be our first point of contact for customers over the weekend needing to report an emergency maintenance issue and will need to work with our on-call managers and contractors to fix the problem! A colleague from our partnering care team, Roche Healthcare, will be on site with you around the clock also, to help customers with any unexpected support needs.

You’ll ensure that our buildings and customers are safe and secure, and that we get on with our neighbours!

Anticipated start date in the role mid-February 2022

About our team
We’re recruiting a brilliant new team, so you’re going to be part of a fabulous new Home Group family. Dean has recently joined us too and brings with him over 24 years of experience in the care sector, with the last five of those being specialising in retirement housing. So, you’ll have tons of experienced support on hand working within our exciting brand-new service.

Working hours
We’ll be providing 24-hour support to our customers, so you’ll work on a rota basis over the weekend, with shifts usually being either 8am – 4pm or 3pm – 11pm. including bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet their needs, but in return we’ll give you the time you need to do the things that matter to you.

Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid on a weekly basis. Check out our bank advert on our website.
