Bedlington West End Primary School

This is an exciting opportunity to learn new skills and gain valuable experience whilst working in a school environment.

The Teaching Assistant Support will contribute to the organisation and delivery of learning activities in a school. They will help teachers and teaching assistants prepare educational materials, plan and deliver classes and enhance pupils' learning experience.

They will provide assistance to pupils who need extra help. They will support teachers and teaching assistants in assessing pupils' homework. They will help ensure that classroom equipment is fit for purpose and will maintain a clean and tidy classroom environment. They will also provide administrative support as needed.

Applicants will have good written and verbal communication skills and good interpersonal skills. They will be able to engage with teaching staff and pupils and will be committed to raising pupils' achievement. They will have an interest in pursuing a career in education. The ideal applicants will also have previous experience in working with pupils within a school setting (this is desirable but not essential).

Fixed days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - Fixed hours: 08:45 - 15:15

As part of this position, you will have access to an employability training offer which will provide a robust and high-quality programme boosting your work and employability skills. This will be provided by Premier Advisory Group (PAG).

PAG's offer is designed in three complementary modules, which will empower you with the appropriate skills to enter the job market with more confidence. Our employability training offer consists of three core modules: Readiness to Work, Introducing Employability Skills and Developing Employability Skills.

The first two modules, which include sessions on CV writing, interview and job search support and an ICT refresher course, will equip you with the basis for improved employability across any role in any sector. The third module will enable you to further develop key employability skills, such as professional writing, critical thinking and communication skills. You will also be encouraged to start planning the future steps of your career.
