Summary

Overview

The 12 months training you undertake will cover everything from your medical to getting your category C or C + E licence. You will start your Wincanton journey working in one of our Warehouse, Porter or Transport office roles, in your local region, whilst you complete your Driver training programme.

On successful completion of your Driving tests (approximately 4-6 months after you started) you will be able to start driving and take one of our many Driver positions within the region earning up to £25K-35K per annum – role and location dependant.

How will you contribute? Whilst you are training you will be working in our Warehouse supporting our team picking and packing products for our Sainsburys contract. The role involves working in a chilled warehouse and shifts are: 3 week rota, 6-2 and 2-10, includes weekends. The pay rate is £10.34 per hour. What will you bring?
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
  • GCECs (or equivalent) in English and Maths grade C or above
  • Flexible approach to location (you may be expected to complete your training in a different location in the region)
  • Be 18 years old or over
  • Be a resident in the UK or EEA for three years

Our selection process:

  1. You will need to complete an online application form which includes eligibility questions. If successful, you will then be required to complete an online hazard perception assessment.
  2. Following on from that our team will contact you to book a video interview
  3. The final stage will be a site visit where you will meet the team and familiarise yourself with the site and your duties.

Please note you may be asked to complete a DBS check on successful completion of the Apprenticeship.
