Asbestos Consultants Europe Ltd

Main purpose of job to become sufficiently trained and experienced in undertaking all aspects of asbestos surveying and air testing, with a view to being able to use a high degree of subjective assessment, be able to draw conclusions and report effectively, plus carry out surveys and air testing procedures in accordance with good practice, such as is described in “Asbestos: The survey guide” HSG264

Learn how to compile reports from asbestos surveys and analysis
Assist a lead surveyor/analyst (shadowing) when carrying out all aspects of a surveys and inspections
Use a tablet hand-held device to collect factual and numerical data
Learn approved methods and current legislation
Work to progress through training programme to become an authorised surveyor
Represent ACE in a professional manner at all times
Communicate and co-operate with both internal and external customers
Hands on experience of using tools and technical equipment
Take the CITB HS&E skills test and obtain a CSCS ACAD Skills card for Trainee Surveyor/Analyst
Learn Basic Microsoft Office skills
Learn interpersonal skills including first rate customer service
Learn how to communicate effectively by improving written and verbal communication skills
Learn attention to detail, Attendance; Timekeeping; Teamwork

GCSE grades C or above in English and Maths or equivalent
Basic computer skills
Full driving licence
Good interpersonal skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail

Monday-Friday. Various shifts between 9 and 17:30 for office work. Additional hours may be required when working on site

All of the employers included in this application have agreed to work with Weston College to develop the young people on Kickstart placements to get basic work skills and reduce the risk of them being long term unemployed. The agreed approach is outlined below.

All employers included in this application will enrol their young person on the unique Weston College Kickstart+ programme. Weston College is recognised for its specialist support, developing employability skills, and training people to secure employment, achieving their career ambitions. The fully funded Kickstart+ programme has been created for employers and those on the Kickstart Scheme.

The Kickstart+ programme will give successful Kickstart placement applicants, the opportunity to achieve relevant qualifications and provide a significant package of wraparound support enabling them to develop their basic employability skills and give them the knowledge, skills and behaviours they will need to fulfil the placement role. The experience, knowledge and transferrable skills they will gain in the placement will help them to secure further employment, employment with training or career advancement.

The wraparound support will include the following training delivered over 3 hours a week for 14 weeks. Delivery will be classroom based but also with an online opportunity, ensuring that there is a study option for every learner, regardless of geographical location, with weekly training available.
Each learner on Kickstart will have an allocated specialist employment tutor who will support them on a weekly basis with their training offered by the College.
