JOB SUMMARY
Cowbee is a busy casual dining restaurant in the centre of Bristol. It’s a popular destination for families, couples, students and tourists alike. A beautiful vibrant space full of light and delicious treats. Our ethos is all about the quality of ingredients: from organic milk in our award-winning gelato and waffles, to the aged beef in our burgers. As a predominantly ‘walk-in’ operation, demand can be unpredictable – it is therefore essential that our management team ensure that we are well-prepared and are able to respond calmly and positively to the pressure of sudden surges in demand.
An opportunity has arisen for someone either with previous hospitality experience or someone looking to embark on a career within the industry, to join our team as a trainee supervisor.

Duties
Manage the flow of customers within the restaurant
Promote and maintain first-class customer service
Help to deliver sales targets and manage operational costs
Ensure that restaurant hosts are managing guests effectively
Ensure that staff are fulfilling their appointed duties
Ensure that customer orders are fulfilled in a timely fashion
Ensure that store promotions are implemented effectively
Deal with customer issues
Ensure the floor is managed effectively and that all customer areas are maintained in a clean and welcoming condition
Ensure that the restaurant is run in accordance with its safer food, better business plan

This role is for 30 hours per week.

SKILLS NEEDED
The trainee supervisor should possess a pleasant demeanour, be a good listener and be polite and approachable. They should be organised and professional in their approach with a strong work-ethic. Excellent communication skills and a desire to deliver the very best in customer service. They should be able to prioritise and ensure that the team on duty is fulfilling roles according to demand. The ability to lead a team that changes daily is essential and to ensure that standards are maintained when not on duty. They should also be capable of driving service improvements and adept at working in a busy environment. The role will involve some evening and weekend work.

Experience
Previous experience in a customer-facing or hospitality role is advantageous.

WORKING HOURS
Five shifts of six-hour duration, according to business need

One to one training will be provided by the General Manager and Supervisor
Cowbee has an online learning portal – Atlas - which offers access to online training modules. Specific mandatory courses include:
Food Hygiene
Health & Safety
Food Allergens and Intolerances
Full Barista Training will be given in conjunction with our Coffee Roasters Extract Coffee.
