Overall Aim of the Job

The ExtraCare Charitable Trust is the UK’s leading not-for-profit developer of housing for over 55s.
You will provide project and administrative support to the Village Manager to enable the Village’s environmental action plan to be delivered.

Main Duties

To support the Village Manager to monitor the progress of the environmental action plan
To suggest and encourage ideas to include within action plan
To support village activities for recycling, reducing energy and enhancing the local natural environment.
To provide information and arrange workshops for village residents about the environmental initiatives.
To help village residents with their queries.
Create project status reports and information sheets
Help with recruitment of additional volunteers to deliver action plan.
Respond to telephone and email queries.
Taking meeting minutes.
To provide general administrative support as required.
Supporting reception when required.

SKILLS NEEDED
Good IT Skills/MS Office

Able to use initiative
Strong planning and organisation skills

WORKING HOURS
5 x 5 hour shifts, flexibility around these working hours. 25 hours per week

HOURLY RATE
National Minimum Wage

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
We have a tailored training and induction programme. The training includes e-learning training, online and classroom-based courses and shadowing colleagues.

To support the long-term employability, we ensure that each Kickstart individual attends a monthly team meeting, has 1-2-1s and has training on:
Customer Service
Communications skills and building a rapport
Updating your CV
Interview skills and making a positive first impression.
Absence management
Our training and Development team will also offer optional courses including First Aid and manual handling. We can also provide certification in key skills for the young person to present when looking for long term work.

Each young person will be working within a team which will be vital to learning Teamwork skills.
This team environment will provide experience of team working, communication and appropriate behaviours within a professional working environment.

Each Kickstart individual will also be assigned a suitable buddy to help support their induction and journey with Extracare.
