The Classroom/Subject Assistant will provide essential support to pupils and teachers in a Primary or Secondary school. This could be in a specific subject, which may be one they particularly enjoyed or did well in while at school or college or in a general capacity.

This role may also include general office and classroom duties to help with the extra workload created by Covid-19 regulations. The role will give applicants valuable experience as well as free employability skills training to help them secure long-term work.

This role is for 25 hours per week

No previous experience is necessary. Successful candidates will need to be able to build good working relationships with both pupils and adults.

An ability to be flexible and creative whilst displaying good organisation skills is important and the ability to manage groups of pupils and cope with challenging behaviour with patience and sense of humour will enable successful candidates to stand out.

Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm with one hour of unpaid time for lunch

Successful applicants will have access to a direct manager that they will report into and receive on-going on the job training from in order to fulfil their role in an effective and safe manner. This will boost personal development and a greater understanding as to how to excel in this profession.

The online content focuses on the key skills that are needed to successfully start and prosper in a job. Job hunting courses include CV writing, interview guidance, job searching and communication. Skills are also developed through in-depth training on areas such as confidence, resilience, negotiation, time management and leadership.
Successful applicants will leave the placement with work experience and the confidence that the accredited training provides and full certification of employability skills programme for a newly created CV.
