The General Assistant role will typically combine the duties of classroom assistant, welfare assistant (supervising children during breaks and lunchtime), school office assistant, and general duties such as sanitisation of desks and guiding pupils to follow applicable Covid-19 regulations.
The role will give applicants valuable experience as well as free employability skills training to help them secure long-term work.
Role is 25 hours per week

No previous experience is necessary. The successful candidate will have strong organisational ability and be a good communicator. They will display, integrity, positivity, diplomacy and an attention to detail and an ability to organise their time and work to deadlines.
They will also need to be able to adapt to different tasks according to the employer’s requirements. Must be willing to work hard and make a contribution to the safe and efficient running of the school.
Successful candidates will be confident in the use of, or the ability to learn quickly, Microsoft Office and have good literacy and numeracy skills.
Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm Includes one hour of unpaid time for lunch

Successful applicants will have access to a direct manager that they will report into and receive on-going on the job training from to fulfil their role in an effective and safe manner. This will boost personal development and a greater understanding as to how to excel in this profession.

Skills are also developed through in-depth training on areas such as confidence, resilience, negotiation, time management and leadership.
Successful applicants will leave the placement with work experience and the confidence that the accredited training provides and full certification of employability skills programme for a newly created CV.
