The Facilities Assistant will assist the School Caretaker and Site Maintenance Manager or team with the general upkeep and maintenance of the school
This role would suit someone seeking a career in facilities management and site maintenance or looking to subsequently gain a trade as an electrician, plumber or carpenter, for example, through a trainee position or apprenticeship
The role will give applicants valuable experience as well as free employability skills training to help them secure long term work

SKILLS NEEDED
No previous experience is necessary
The successful candidate will need to show the ability to organise and prioritise work, display good communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work as part of a team and have good literacy and numeracy skills
Candidates should have basic DIY skills and be able use to undertake routine repairs and maintenance tasks
In addition to possessing knowledge and understanding of health and safety procedures, especially as regards the use of gardening and maintenance equipment

WORKING HOURS
Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm Includes one hour of unpaid time for lunch
