As a Trainee Kitchen assistant you will be working alongside experienced team members and assisting them in the preparation and delivery of high quality food and beverages.
You will gain knowledge and the skills in how to maintain a clean and safe environment suitable for food preparation.
You will work with other team members to ensure the overall dining experience is consistently delivered to all residents.

As a Trainee Kitchen Assistant you will be:-
Working alongside experienced team members in the kitchen area
Developing your hands on experience of food preparation including vegetables, salads, omelettes and sandwiches.
Gaining experience of maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness in the kitchen area including all equipment and appliances.
Understanding and implementing the principles of safe food handling to ensure food preparation is undertaken to the highest possible standards of hygiene.
Practicing safe systems of work across a range of tasks in particular moving and handling of loads.
Working closely with team members to understand and deliver a high standard of work and ensuring all Safety at Work legislation is adhered to.

Experience of working as a Kitchen Assistant is not necessary. We provide you with excellent learning, development and support opportunities, to equip you with the knowledge and skills to make a real difference in the role.
Example of working pattern is: 4 days on 4 days off - 25hrs per week to be worked between 8am to 8pm - to be confirmed with successful candidate.
ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
Employability support will be delivered remotely through our Gateway, Learning Curve Group.
They will deliver the NCFE Level 1 Employability Skills
Award qualification during the placement, working on the following units:-
Working in a Team
Writing a CV
Kickstarter's will also be given pastoral support throughout their placement by their personal.
Employability Coach from Learning Curve Group. During their placement, they will also have the opportunity to complete a vocational Level 2 qualification as supplied by Learning Curve Group through their Flexible Learning offer.
