The Community Cafe Assistant will be responsible for assisting in all food production and hold responsibility for the maintenance in our catering operation.
They will also assist the volunteer team in all training sessions.
The Hospitality role will include, preparation of bakery products and barista products as well front of house duties.
Serving the public as part out our Cafe Outlet Training Enterprise.
The young person will assist with the day to day food production in line with the daily menu requirements, nutritional guidelines and food hygiene regulations, serve on counter, promoting products in a polite, friendly and courteous manner and keep counters clean during service, keep the kitchen and storage areas clean.
The post will be expected to attend all meetings and training courses as required, maintain high standards of personal hygiene, ensure hygiene and safety standards are maintained in all work areas and maintain the legal standards of hygiene and safety and take any action as is necessary and ensure personal appearance is well groomed at all times.
The post will be based in our Sweet Success Cafe, Dumbarton.
30 hours per week
No formal qualifications will be required as in-house training will be given for this post however a keen eye for detail and the ability to create visually appealing displays of baked goods alongside excellent customer service and communication skills is essential.

Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
We will support the young person by offering a named mentor throughout their six-month post.
The mentor will be responsible for guiding all task work as well as supporting development needs.
These sessions will be hosted in the place of work.
The training will include in-house bespoke subjects pertaining to the service and will be supported via our digital training programme.
We will also include health and safety, first aid in the work place and community based working training.
We will also offer Hospitality training both in-house linked to all tasks as well as a recognised qualification pertaining to the young person’s aspiration in the field of catering which will include an SVQ in Bakery & Pastry if desired.
