The roles main duties include: Performing general labouring tasks, performing set up and clean up tasks, maintaining tools and equipment, keeping vans tidy and organised, lifting loads.

During the placement you will receive training and tutoring for operation of tools and machinery.

You will be required to work on building sites in the Congleton/Sandbach area – locations to be discussed at interview as will vary dependent on work demands.

Desirable skills and attributes include: The ability to follow written and spoken instructions, excellent team working skills, comfortable working at height, hardworking and motivated, interest in the construction (previous experience/qualifications useful but not essential), capable of working with minimal oversight but willing to follow instructions closely, punctual, and a good work ethic.

Previous site experience and driving license/own transport would be useful but not essential

Monday to Friday 08:00 - 14:00 - 1 hr lunch May vary depending on work demands

National Minimum Wage

You will learn how to carry out general labouring tasks and how to work on the site.

You will receive tutoring for the operation and maintenance of tools and machinery.

Youth Fed will allocate an experienced mentor to you and provide wrap around support and guidance relating to finance, time-keeping, training to improve skills, courses, access to a network of other young people and offer intensive job search support. The mentor will work closely with you throughout the programme to assist in securing a permanent role at the end of the six months
