JOB SUMMARY
Job purpose-
To provide an on-site cleaning/caretaking service.

Main duties and responsibilities-

• To be responsible for the cleaning of a specified area in accordance with Anthem’s current standards and methods.
• To store cleaning equipment and materials in a safe place.
• Report to the immediate supervisor any problems relating to cleaning equipment and materials.
• To carry out caretaking duties as directed by the facilities manager or any other designated person.
• Support with the storage and transport of resources around the academy safely.
• Assist with minor repairs / maintenance as appropriate.
• To monitor and check the stock of materials and resources.
• To be a key holder for the school premises where it is considered necessary by the Headteacher.

SKILLS NEEDED
Good numeracy/ literacy skills.
Good IT competencies e.g. email, MS office etc.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public, and provide advice and information in accurate spoken English.
Ability to work independently and also as part of a team.
Physically fit- able to bend, stretch, pull, push, move and lift, use ladders and work at heights.
Flexible approach to work.

WORKING HOURS
25 hours per week, 9am- 2pm Monday to Friday.

HOURLY RATE
National Minimum Wage

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
The candidate will be supported and trained internally by site managers, and will become familiar with all the statutory and non statutory requirements of looking after a school site. This will include training on Health and Safety and Site Maintenance, which will give the participant the skills and knowledge to enable them to look for jobs in site maintenance, premises management, caretaking or other building management.

The applicant will also have access to online training in Asbestos Awareness, COSHH, Electrical Safety, Health and Safety, Legionella, Manual Handling.
