JOB SUMMARY
The role of the domestic assistant is to assist with ensuring standards of cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness are maintained throughout the home at all times.

To undertake general cleaning duties in all areas specified in the cleaning schedule to the standard required replenishing toiletry items, including the requisitioning, storage and distribution of such items. To ensure standards of cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness in all bedrooms, bathrooms, lounges, office areas, corridors, function rooms and general public areas are maintained. To remove all rubbish, as directed, to designated areas.

To maintain timely and accurate records as required by the organisation and ensure that personal laundry is appropriately marked, identified and returned to the correct individual.

To establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, service users, visitors and other individuals visiting or working in the home. To represent the company as an honest, knowledgeable and conscientious ambassador.

To help maintain a safe environment for staff, residents and visitors through due diligence and compliance with health and safety and all operational policies and procedures.

Skills to be developed are communication skills, people skills, time management, organisational skills and ability to work on own initiative.

SKILLS NEEDED
In line with government legislation, from 11th November 2021 it will be mandatory for all staff working in our care homes to be fully vaccinated against COVID 19 unless medically exempt. All new applicants would therefore need to have already received their first dose of the vaccine by 16th September 2021.

WORKING HOURS
Mon-Fri 9am-2pm, 25 hours per week
