MidKent College

This role will be in the Operations Division to support the Facilities Manager and wider MKC Training team and cover the following duties

Collection of visitors from Gate
Student/course security escort
Delivery driver escort
Porterage of equipment, furniture, etc.
Assistance to building contractors (room clearance)
PAT testing
Banksman support

MKC Training Services Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary company of MidKent College. We are based at the Royal School of Military Engineering (RSME) within Brompton Barracks in Medway. We train 2000 Royal Engineers a year in a mix of construction and engineering trades, as well as professional engineering qualifications. We currently design, manage and deliver training across 15 disciplines and are seeking to expand into new markets.

As a subsidiary of MidKent College, MKC Training Services is committed to ensuring that the people employed via the Kickstart scheme are valued members of the team. Each post-holder will be supported throughout their placement to develop their ongoing employability skills, and will receive any appropriate and specific training associated with their placement. Post-holders will be supported and developed to become effective and motivated employees.

When a post-holder commences their employment with MKC Training Services, a number of diagnostic assessments will be undertaken to ascertain their level of understanding and attainment. A training plan will also be developed to support their progress which could include support with English, Maths and digital skills.

Each person selected to join the scheme will be assigned a buddy who will support them, providing guidance and encouragement towards their own individual objectives, along with being a motivating guide.

Towards the end of the placement, MKC Training Services will actively engage each Kickstarter with its Careers Team, based at MidKent College, who will support them in their job-seeking skills, including interview techniques, CV writing skills and interview preparation. MKC Training Services is committed to providing progression opportunities for as many people as possible, either into apprenticeship positions or to help facilitate and support them into future employment with other local employers.
