Anomalia Games

Anomalia Games creates some of the finest tabletop gaming accessories and we are looking to employ home based product designers to work with us and help expand our growing ranges.

We are looking for people with experience in using Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs and other design software and you will be responsible for taking prospective ideas from a briefing stage and developing them into workable products. You will be helped through this by our team and have access to all the feedback required, however being able to think outside the box and come up with solutions is vital.

Experience working is not required and this would suit someone who may have studied design but is having difficulty accessing the job market due to lack of experience, something we are well aware is very difficult in this industry! Therefore, we want to help you gain valuable real life experience in creating projects based off a brief for real uses that may end up in retail outlets around the world. In addition, we will also be helping put together a portfolio for you to show future employers to showcase this ability.

As a product designer the following is essential;

knowledge and ability with at least one CAD program
the ability to use the above create projects based off a brief

In addition, the following would be desirable;

experience with tabletop gaming of any type including board games, card games, war-games and so on
the hardware/software to run your chosen design program to be able to work from home (if you do not have this please apply anyway as we may be able to help)

Flexible work from home hours, required availability for one-hour weekly department meetings via Zoom call

National Minimum Wage

As a company involved in every level of design, manufacturing, sales and distribution in our industry we are well placed to help Kickstart participants improve their job prospects. Even though they are working from home they will be expected to be engaged with the company through our project management software and communication platform.

One of the most important things a participant will do with us during the scheme is working on live projects, taking a project from concept stage all the way through to a finished product that is manufactured. This will be valuable work experience; the 'first real project' it is one of the hardest things for any prospective designer to get done. We will then work with participants to create a portfolio to showcase their work done with the company which will be vital to show a prospective future employer

In addition, we will provide CV writing workshops; even if a participant doesn't have a CV we will work with them to create a CV geared towards jobs they want to apply for.
