Spin Up Science Ltd (www.spin-up.science) was incorporated in 2018 to support entrepreneurial scientists, inspire future innovators and establish the UK as a centre for technology commercialisation. We work to connect scientists and engineers across the UK’s academic institutions with local industry through training programs, invited talks, technology showcases, and hands-on opportunities to work alongside enterprises to foster local scientific innovation ecosystems.

We are looking for an Associate Consultant to work directly with our Ventures team to increase our capacity for supporting early stage science and technology companies. The role is varied and would entail having active involvement in supporting the growth and direction of early Ventures, whilst working with founders in the latest emerging startups from the science and technology sector.

The Associate Consultant will support incubated businesses by carrying out market research to help clients gain a greater understanding of the commercial opportunity within their research. They will also support through researching relevant events, grants and funding opportunities. The role will involve building strong relationships with existing clients, as well as the opportunity to develop our client list by finding prospective clients to onboard.

The role will be flexible for remote and on site working with the opportunity to meet with Spin Up team members regularly, and will also include regular communication with the wider UK team through digital communication (Zoom meetings and Slack).

All necessary training provided through staff inductions and 1-2-1 onboarding with company processes

As part of training for the role, the young person will receive 1-2-1 training and upskilling on all software used by the company, as well as having guidance on company procedures with support for managing tasks and working to deadlines.
