Would you like to work in a school in an administrative role?

You will be fully supported to develop your skills to provide administrative support within a school. This will include welcoming visitors, responding promptly to emails and phone calls, preparing and distributing resources and maintaining school databases. You will also help in the planning and organisation of school events and trips.

Throughout your placement you will be fully supported to develop your skills and given more responsibility as your experience and confidence in the role grow.

Discovery Schools Academies Trust is able to offer a full Induction, referring the trainee to the relevant job description including expectations, a health and safety induction including safeguarding and reporting procedures. A nominated member of staff will discuss the employees’ progress and any matters arising during the placement, Discovery Schools Academies Trust feel this will be more relevant to trainees as the Trust will know first-hand if any aspects of the placement needs adjusting, rather than a third party needing to address this. The Trust will conduct an exit interview/discussion to further understand challenges that the trainee has faced.

Fulfilling the Employability skills - the 1:1 member of staff has previously worked in
this particular field, getting trainees ready for a permanent job, the Trust has CV
templates and during the 1:1 sessions CV writing, interview preparation and guidance
to look for a job will be given, the Trust has a number of members of staff that are
qualified in safer recruitment. All staff at the Trust use Microsoft Office and trainees
will be given guidance and training on this, as they will be using this system regularly.
The Trust has access to interactive personality tests as these are used during our
own recruitment.

Developing Employability Skills – The Trust has rigorous policies and Risk
Assessments on COVID 19, the trainee will be expected to attend regular sessions on
