ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
Many businesses have chosen Wirral Chamber to facilitate full wraparound training and support for young people and this will commence with an induction at the beginning of their placement.
We will hold monthly sessions starting at the end of month one. It will cover effective communications, personal brand and emotional intelligence - detailed how the Kickstart placement can make a valued contribution to the workplace, and how their actions and behaviours can impact on others both positively and negatively.
We then move on to a Money Matters session where we look at what young people might be spending their money on, where savings can be made and why and how money management is so important.
Our next session centres on the health and wellbeing of the Kickstart placements where we will look at mental health, resilience, confidence and motivation. This session also includes details regarding the importance of a healthy diet.
Session 4 focuses on CV building and goal setting; looking at their work placement experience to date and how we can ensure these experiences are reflected in their CVs.
We will then progress to interview masterclasses and how to sell yourself - so that young people become confident in explaining their strengths and not to be afraid to say what they are good at.
The final session will focus on job searches and looking for long term employment.

Throughout the sessions we will have senior Business Leaders joining the sessions to talk to the young people about the world of work, what they look for in employees and provide tips and hints.

Our Young People Coordinator will be in regular contact with the kickstart placements to ensure they have everything they need and to deal with any issues they might have; also to provide positive feedback received from companies. We will offer 1:1 sessions when needed and encourage all our placements to keep in touch with us and let us know their progress.
