To work as part of the Depot Make Ready Team function ensuring that:
Vehicles and equipment are clean and ready to meet the stated daily operational requirement.
The mechanical condition of the vehicle is roadworthy.
The correct scale of stocking of clinical equipment and consumables are adhered to.
All Make Ready quality standards set by the Trust are met.
The deep cleaning programme for vehicles is coordinated with the vehicle servicing schedule.
The buffer store is adequately stocked and refurbished.
The post holder assists Fleet Services in maintaining the operational serviceability of the vehicle fleet by undertaking vehicle inspection and minor running repairs to vehicles.
Compliance with Health and Safety Executive requirements in the use of all equipment and materials applicable to the Make Ready function.
To ensure the candidate is able to effectively communicate with staff and their representatives.
Identify and minimise interpersonal conflict.
The post holder will make reports as directed or as may be required on matters relevant to the Make Ready function.
The work takes place in an open garage environment which is susceptible to extreme conditions of temperature.
That the physical requirements of the job include lifting and carrying supplies are undertaken.
The post holder will be required to use physical effort to wash vehicles. Protective clothing will be issued.
The post holder is exposed to unpleasant smells, temperature, weather, bodily fluid on a day to day basis several times a shift.
To ensure adherence to the Trusts policies, procedures and any relevant legislation.
Good communication skills

Satisfy Occupational Health assessment
Full UK driving licence incl. Category C1 is preferred but not essential
Full rotational shift patterns preferred to include evenings, weekends, nights and public holidays due to nature of the organisation (will be amended should successful candidate be under 18 years old)

Each successful applicant will join a team of established Vehicle Preparation Operatives to support and mentor their placement with the Trust.
Full training will be provided following commencement from the Trust's central team to ensure that each applicant is competent and understands the expectations of the Trust.
An experienced management team is available 24 hours, 7 days a week on each hub for any general queries or concerns.
Each hub has a nominated HR Advisor and HR Manager who are also available to aid the individuals and their line managers as and when required.
The Trust prides itself on the support mechanisms that we have in place for our employees including a suite of mental and physical wellbeing support available to all.
The employee will be subject to the policies and procedures of the Trust including sickness absence management and regular meetings with a manager to check their progress and to identify any areas of development to enable the individual to adapt and grow into the role.
At a designated point in their placement, everyone will receive support and guidance with application completion, CV writing, interview skills and generic careers advice.
