We are looking for an inspirational SENCo to lead the excellent inclusion and SEN(D) within our school and join our highly committed Leadership Team. The ideal candidate will provide real strategic leadership and vision for our SEN(D) provision. We want to appoint someone who is not only a clear leader, but someone who is also willing to ‘muck’ in to drive the provision and outcomes for children forward.

Experience of working with children with Special Needs and Disabilities.

The ability to support and line manage the work of teaching assistants and our inclusion team.
Good management and organisational skills and experience of leading/managing other staff.
Have experience of writing funding bids, grant applications and EHCPs.
Have a secure knowledge of Primary Practice from Nursery to Year 6.
An understanding of nurturing principles.
Strong behaviour management skills.
The drive to ensure the gap between the progress of students with SEN(D) is diminishing over time and in line with, or better than, the national.

Candidates should be:

Skilful in working with pupils with a range of different abilities and needs – SEND, LAC, Pupil Premium, EAL and G & T.
Able to work effectively as part of the Leadership Team towards excellence.
A good communicator and the ability to work as part of a wider team.
Able to liase effectively and appropriately with a range of partners, including other professionals, externally and internally, as well as parents and carers.
