Specialist Technical Officer to Supervise, Design and Manufacture bespoke electronic component assemblies for use in World class Education and Research.
You will be able to use your considerable skills and experience to help Design and Manufacture complex bespoke precision items. You will be well versed in fault-finding and repair work, be able to use and maintain specialist technical equipment including carrying out testing and maintenance of equipment, including electrical safety testing. You will monitor and advise on stock requirements of equipment and goods. Be able to carry out a range of defined tests/experiments/technical procedures, using specialist equipment and techniques. You should be able to maintain accurate and effective records of work completed and provide guidance to students in relation to technical operations, machinery and any testing undertaken. You will also possess excellent hand skills.
We are looking for someone who is excited at the thought of joining a team at the forefront of Engineering Education and Research, assisting and supervising students and researchers in the manufacture of electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies that will be used in all environments from beneath the oceans to outer space and everything in between.
You will have excellent communication and time management skills and able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment. You will be used to supervising a small team and able to demonstrate your ability to manage.
