Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust are looking to fill the above Locum Appointment for Service (LAS) positions starting as soon as possible at a junior grade in Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC) / Same day emergency Care (SDEC).
The post will be based at either Maidstone or Tunbridge Wells Hospital.
The post would suit someone with a minimum of one years experience in AEC.
Assessment and management of patients in ambulatory care settings
Performing procedures (under appropriate supervision) in ambulatory care unit
Takes referral from primary care, with support of senior doctor and nurse-in-charge
Attendance at out-patient clinics as appropriate
Discharge notifications and follow up clinic letters as directed.
Participation and leadership in audit/ quality improvement projects
Provision of in-patient care for Consultant’s patients (as cross cover for acute medicine inpatient team on occasions)
To participate in the AEC 7 day service (including evenings, weekends and bank holidays)
The Trust was formed in April 2000 by the merger of the Mid Kent Healthcare Trust and the Kent & Sussex Weald NHS Trust. It provides general hospital services to a population of approximately 460,000 in West Kent and North East Sussex, and some specialist services to a considerably larger population. Its major hospitals are the Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury and Maidstone Hospital.
