Substance Misuse Support Worker needed at a Residential service in Burton!
Location: Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire.
Hours: 40 a week.
A specialist service in rehabilitation containing 36 rehab beds, 8 detoxification beds and 33 recovery housing beds.
Minimum duration within similar type role or relevant experience within similar environment.
Good basic level of education.
NVQ in Health & Social Care is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
A full UK Driving licence is essential.
A DBS with 12 months would be beneficial.
To carry out the formal induction into detoxification, supported accommodation for new clients explaining in detail the procedures of the unit including cleanliness/boundaries of the property.
To complete care plans / risk assessments & additional paperwork with service users.
To support the delivery of the Therapeutic Programme and Resettlement Programme by working with clients to develop independent living skills and maintaining records of work undertaken.
To assist clients to achieve their own goals with regard to move on activities, respecting the privacy and need for own space for each client. Treating clients with respect and dignity to empower them to regain control of their affairs.
To carry out drug and alcohol screening on clients.
To carry out consultation with the service users on a weekly basis paying attention to feedback and health and safety and ensuring that accurate records are kept and reported to the Manager /Senior/Supervisor.
