To assist in supporting clients to move towards greater levels of community integration and independent living and to assist with the safety and security of the properties used within the service
Within this time the support worker will:
Work with tenants to build up independent living skills
Ensure safety and security and upkeep of the building and properties used within the service
To provide housing management support including helping set up rooms for new tenants, reporting repairs, light cleaning of rooms and buildings/offices
Support the delivery of community activities
All other housing related issues
To liaise with tenant support operative and housing manager regarding all housing management related issues
To ensure service user confidentiality whilst maintaining accurate client notes, files and records and make this information readily available for review.
To develop the knowledge and ability to work within the statutory framework relevant to the client group.
To implement and adhere to Cornerstones policies and procedures.
To ensure the structure, principles and ethos of the organisation are adhered to.
To implement and adhere to policy and practice in relation to health and safety in all aspects of the post holders work
To carry out risk assessments and participate in risk management in accordance with Cornerstones policies.
To operate within clear professional and confidentiality boundaries and to work within Cornerstones code of conduct.
To incorporate Equal Opportunities policy and anti-discriminatory practice.
Level 2 in Health and Social Care of Equivalent preferred but not essential.
Hours to be worked across 4/5 days a week

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
Line management will be performed by the housing manager and volunteer coordinator, with an introductory one-to-one interview establishing need and ability levels before beginning work. Personal progression plans and training will be discussed with the employee and where applicable employment mentors. The employee will receive support from the volunteer coordinator and where applicable employment mentors. Personal progression plans, training and employability support will be included within the support.
