Village Pharmacy Narborough
Assist licensed pharmacist in preparing and dispensing drugs to patients and healthcare providers. Verify that prescriptions are filled correctly and in a timely manner. Interact with patients in delivering medications and completing other sales transactions. Receive, record, and store medications coming into the pharmacy. Maintain stock of prescription medications and informs pharmacist of inventory needs.
Dispense prescription medication and other medical products to patients under direction of licensed pharmacist
Count pills, label bottles, prices, and compound medications to prepare prescriptions for patients as directed
Perform administrative duties, including answering phones, receiving and inputting prescription orders, operating cash registers, and restocking inventory
Gather, organise, and assesse patient information
Supply patients with information and education on their prescriptions
Monitor prescription-filling process to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and pharmacy policies
Liaise with healthcare providers and patients to obtain correct prescription information
Answer patients' questions about their medications under the supervision of the pharmacist
Take inventory of drugs on hand and records results
Place orders for additional drugs as directed by the pharmacist
Maintain electronic patient information
Prepare billing information for medications
Complete patients' sales transactions for purchase of prescription and over-the-counter medications as well as other pharmaceutical products
What is required from you?
Good time keeping, using initiative, good communication skills, willing to be flexible with working hours. Committed, honest, reliable and willing to learn new skills. Good ability to work in a team and independently. Committed to learning and completing Pharmacy assistant course by Buttercups. Willing to follow instructions.
All candidates are screened on an individual basis for suitability for however, GCSE A-C English and Maths or equivalent grades is desirable.
Candidates are advised to check the location of the vacancy prior to application and be able to travel to and from the location setting.
Opening hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am till 6pm, Saturday 9am till 1pm. The hours allocated will be dependent on the needs of the business.
ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
The support will be provided internally by our dedicated manager. The course the young person will be assigned to will be provided by Buttercups Training who is a leading national provider, with a track record of providing high quality programmes with high achievement rates.
Support and training will be provided on a daily basis. The young person will have an appraisal on a monthly basis.
The young person will have tasks set for them on a daily basis at the pharmacy. Training is also provided online by Buttercups which also requires the young person to carry out practical sessions in order to further enhance the learning.
