We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Family Support worker to join our team, representing the charity positively as part of the Families Thrive Together team, at the Cedarwood Centre in North Shields NE29 7QT.
Roles & Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

As a Family Support Worker, you will work with team to provide a range of play and educational learning activities for children 0-4 years and parents and significant others on a day-to-day basis. The role would involve observing and engaging in interactions, promoting positive parenting, and working alongside other professionals to provide advice and guidance.

English & Maths GCSE
People person, confident and outgoing
Have an interest in early years’ development
Confident speaker
Customer focused, polite and friendly manner
Excellent communication, time management and attention to detail
Likes working as a team
Full training provided.

9am to 3:15pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

National minimum wage

Cedarwood Trust has a designated employment advisor who will support the new employee with employability skills which include updating CV, interview techniques and applying for recruitment opportunities. This will be delivered weekly through 1.1 support and group sessions from the Cedarwood Centre.
The new employee will receive core induction training in level 2 certification in Health & Safety, GDPR, Equality, diversity & Inclusion and Dignity & Respect. Each of the level 2 qualifications will develop the employees professionally and enhance their employability readiness in developing their career path.
Communication and team work skills will be developed and enhanced in mixed approach of working in a team department and attending daily AGILE meetings to outlay their work for the day and receive advice support and guidance.
